I have recently bought some tape drives from Castle and they provided an excellent next day service - their website is very informative and I will continue to purchase from them in the future.

Hello Richard

It sounds like your tapes are dirty and after you have cleaned the drive using the cleaning tape dirt is put back onto the head when you use your old media.

We can service the drive for you and check the errors given by the head and replace it. You may want to consider replacing your media too. I will ask someone in sales to email you a repair price for the drive and the cost of new media.
Thanks for your enquiry

I have a Compaq DLT 40/80GB drive and when I try to use it for a back up the cleaning light comes on. I have tried using a cleaning tape which does make the light go out but everytime I put media back into the drive the light comes back on. Can you tell me why this is happening?

Many thanks for your email and comments. I would suggest the following UPS solution.

SUA2000XLI + a SU48XLBP Battery Pack, this has a retail price of £1028 and will offer a runtime of 79 minutes.

I will email you a full quotation but please do not hesitate to contact the sales team at Castle Computers for further information

Good morning, I am currently looking for a solution to protect my server room, I have spoken to APC directly and they suggested speaking to a reseller like yourselves. Please can you give me various size options for a rack unit to connect to 2 servers (containing 8 blades in each) and our telephone hub. If possible I would like a minimum backup runtime of 30 minutes.

Im looking for a small back up solution for our office but dont want to buy a device from a resller because they are way over the top for our needs. Do you have any suggestions? I am not interested in an external Hard Drive because I want to be able to take the tapes off site.
